David Shaw's Jazzfest Debut

David Shaw takes the stage this upcoming May for his debut Jazzfest performance as his solo project following the release of his self-titled album. When asked about what the performance means to him David said:

“It’s hard to put into words exactly how I feel about this upcoming Jazzfest. I’m one who oftentimes feels his emotions a little late in the game, but then BOOM…they ALL come rushing like a wild wind when I least expect it. I think it’s something I might’ve picked up in childhood as a defense mechanism.. all of my protectors inside putting up their guard not letting me get too excited or too sad, but when I saw this poster tears began to well up and a great sense of joy bloomed in my belly. It’s more than a feeling, it’s a deeply profound knowing that I’ve got the heart of whole city inside me and we’re about to let out every bit of everything that’s been weighing us down. They might as well call it by another name this year.”
